My apologies team! We agreed to have all our content completed & polished by Thanksgiving break, and I have not accomplished this. A significant geographic relocation of the entirety of one's material possessions will certainly derail one's academic progress a bit (i.e. my family moved from Iowa to Milwaukee & I spent time packing instead of doing homework). But fear not! I will be putting in extra hours outside class to work on my slide shows & stories. I am confident I will complete my assigned tasks in a timely manner.
On a tangent, this multimedia stuff really does take FOREVER. I knew it would take longer than I anticipated, but I was unprepared for how much time it genuinely consumes. As previously mentioned, multiple hours of work outside class lie ahead of me.
On a positive note, I'm quite pleased with the content we've gathered. I am also impressed with Lindsay's completed iMovie slide shows. They give me hope that I too can create decent multimedia!

V-Ball
The volleyball shoot went well, thanks to the miracle that is the little lens. Linda's video seminar left us with a few helpful pointers, and Lindsay reports that the footage we capture from the game is very serviceable. We also thought to start capturing ambient noise with the iTalk from the beginning this time, which we hope will come in useful behind a slide show.
All of our content has been gathered at this point, although I'm still working on getting it all in one place.

The Five D's
The night's sport was dodge ball. (Is that one or two words?) Shooting dodge ball proved to be much more difficult than we all anticipated. We couldn't capture both sides of the action. Lighting was also an issue. However, once Marino remembered to use my fast lens (f1.8) we got some high quality photos. It looks like the video will end up as a montage, due to the short length of usable segments. We also did some video interviews. We also used the iTalk to record ambient noise (oh, the excitement of dodge ball!). With three of us there, we had all the bases covered. All in all, a solid night's work.
(I have a confession; I've never seen the movie Dodgeball.)

at long last...the backpack!
We finally have possession of the long-awaited backpack! That thing is heavy (& awkwardly shaped). The iPod also does not work - it looks like previous users shoved the iTalk in without much care. We also don't have a charger for the phone, but we don't anticipate having a need for it. Now I don't want it to sound as though I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth (i.e. complaining). It is so nice to finally have a place to store all our content. And the iBook is slick. Plus we've learned about iWeb, which also looks to be quite fun to use.

Rec Center Items
Just an update that I have this year's intramural champions t-shirt so we can use ti for whatever we need. I also got a bunch of pictures of privious winners that we can scan and use for our publications. And, I had interviews with two director staff members that run the intramural program as well as a student employee for the story on general intramural info and history at marquette. Things are taking shape! We really need to get a hard drive so we can compile our info and listen to those interviews to get started writing our other stories.

Web and Thursday class
Marino, you missed a fabulous class. We learned all about iWeb. We are pretty excited, now all we need is content. I think for the Web we should have a main home page and then a main page for each sport. We also need to really narrow our focus. We should meet during and maybe after class on thursday to make an outline for Web navigation and to decide what stories we are writing and who is doing each one. Time is going to go by really fast on this project, so we need to get a jump on content. Then we can focus on design and Web. FOCUS and ORGANIZE!!!

shakedown period
Lindsay & I covered water polo last night & flag football tonight. We switched off using my still camera and the video camera. Looking over the still photos, I'm pleased with the results. Lindsay - your efforts weren't half bad for an initial attempt. We have yet to review the video clips, which I'm especially interested in. I know nothing of proper filming techniques & have no idea how our footage will turn out.
We talked to a few players after the matches, and the iTalk is slick. I think we got some interesting & usable quotes as well. We got mug shots of a few people, but forgot to get them for others.
Now that we've covered a few initial events, we need to review the quality of the content we gathered and figure out how to improve.
PS - Congrats, Marino, on the utter domination in the pool...18-0 isn't too shabby.
